The four workers were doing road construction between Riba and Konton in Wajir before they were abducted.
Speaking to Nation, Beja said a driver of a pick-up truck that the workers were using managed to escape during the night incident in the remote area.
The DCC said the driver was on a short call when the militants attacked and he managed to escape safely.
