Ruto supported McDonald Mariga of Jubilee, who emerged second. He lost to Imran Okoth of ODM.

In a tweet on Thursday, Sifuna, however, maintained that the DP could be furious for losing millions he allegedly dispatched for campaigns in Kibra.

"The fury from the DP results from losing money to conmen. It's good that he accepts the situation and moves on. I see a situation where we could be forced to return the money," he said.

"(Hii hasira yote ya @WilliamsRuto ni juu watu walikula pesa yake. Nilisema hapa Nairobi ma yengs hukula pesa zetu na hatusumbuani hata after Jonte flani kupewa vitu. Inauma but inabidi uzoee. At this rate tutatoa Paybill number turudishie huyu jamaa pesa yake aache kulialia)."

The DP has been hitting at the Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga, accusing him of thriving on chaos and deceit in his quest for power.

On Thursday, Dr Ruto defended his position, insisting that Raila should be blamed for the standoff in Jubilee administration. He denied sabotaging the president.

"Waheshimiwa, the real SABOTEUR is your master the people's conman who uses deceit to divide/destroy parties even Uhuru's Jubilee," read part of his tweet.

The DP on Wednesday also fired back at Mr Odinga, warning that he will not be allowed to plunge the country to violence, questioning his political moves.

“Tinga/his party’s trail of political conmanship/deceit from Kanu thro’ CORD to NASA and now heading to Jubilee; and litany of violence from 82’ coup to Kibra cannot be hidden behind BBI,” said Ruto.
