Former Nyamira Finance Minister Jackline Momanyi has formally plunged into politics, slightly a year after her resignation.
On Thursday, Momanyi told reporters that her move was a decision arrived at after consulting various stakeholders and professionals.
She insisted that he knowledge in Finance would help put in order the utilisation of National Government Affirmative Action Fund.
"I have been in the finance and management for sometime and I am able to coordinate and help the county realise a number of projects," she said.
"You've seen what NGAAF has done in counties like Homa Bay and the same can happen here of you pick me. I am ready for the journey," she added.
Momanyi shocked many when she resigned from her powerful docket to pursue business ventures, a move she said she doesn't regret.
"I don't regret. When you can't handle certain illegal things, you just quit. I can't be involved in certain matters."
She will now join an already crowded race in which incumbent Jerusha Momanyi is ready to defend her seat.
Others in the race include Anned Onsando, Dr Grace Nyamongo, Jane Onsongo among others. Nyamira has around 200,000 voters.
