Kiambu county government is set to offer entrepreneurship skills to youth, women and people living with disability in a bid to improve their living standards in Gatundu North.

Gatundu North sub-county deputy public affairs and development Nancy Mwangi said from her office on Wednesday that the group will benefit from the training to enhance business opportunities in the sub-county for sustainable development.

"The youth will be taught on how to make business proposals and apply for tenders which have been reserved for the groups, and the training will create awareness among the residents and offer procedures on how best to win such floated tenders, " she revealed.

The officer appealed to the vulnerable groups in the area to attend the training which will be conducted in the sub-county in the next two weeks at Kamwangi social hall.

She added that the youth should be aggressive in soliciting for tenders arguing that business is not for faint hearted.

"The first phase of the training will benefit 305 people from all the wards in this sub-county and will commence conclusively on 4th January 2016," she revealed.

She also said that there are 1300 registered people living with disabilities in the sub-county and their plight will be looked into by her department.
