Traders at DC market in Kibera have appealed to the municipality to building them sheds to shelter them during the harsh sun light and rains.
"The sheds re few and so cannot accommodate all of us. As traders, we have been operating at this market for long time without sheds. This makes our operations hard especially during the rainy and hot seasons," said Mama Martha.
"I always close my business whenever it rains and when the sun rays are strong making me suffer losses. If the municipality builds shelters for us, this will help to prevent loss of my perishable goods since shelters can also enable me extend my selling hours despite the tough weather because the market has security lights," added Martha.
"Enough shelters will declare DC market a 24-hour business operation market ever within the Kibera slums," concluded Mama Martha.
