Wednesday marked the end of a career at the Royal Media Services for four top news reporter after they got sacked.

This news has upset quite a number of Kibera citizen TV fans as they will miss the good reporters who lost their jobs.

In a decision that was made public on  March 1, 2016, by the company’s management, Evelyn Wambui, Kendagor Obadiah, Pheona Kenga and Patrick Injendi were among those who were sent home. According to the sources, the exit of Wambui and Obadiah is associated with discipline issues. Wambui is said to have been in clashes with her managers at work despite the fact that she is a good reporter. On the other hand, Obadiah is said to have refused to work over the weekend. Obadiah, according to sources, has interests to join politics in Kapenguria.

A resident, Henry Nyabuto said that he will now change his viewership to another tv channel now that the company fired the reporters he loved.

“I really like the way Pheona Kenga reports, very fluent in Swahili. I loved watching her on TV every day. I do not know where I will be tuning to now,” said Robert Omoori, a resident.

Zachariah Kirui, another resident said it was very unfair to send the reporters home since they were the key reporters especially at times of elections reporting from the ground.

“The company management will lose the viewership to their news from Kibera fans who loved the reporters who were let go,” said Kirui.
