Mbugua said it is a painful experience for 18 business owners in Mai Mahiu, Naivasha who lost their properties worth millions of shillings to a fire tragedy.

“It is a big setback for the owners of these businesses as property worth millions of shillings went up in flames. I advise you to consider insuring your properties so that in the event of such a tragedy, you will be covered,” he said.

The county boss was speaking in Mai Mahiu town where property worth millions of shillings was razed by fire on Sunday.

Police have launched investigations into the incident.

Mbugua said there are tailor-made insurance products for covering such tragedies and people, especially entrepreneurs, should subscribe for them.

“Invest in insurance products that are now readily available and would come in handy when such emergencies occur,” he said.

Area MCA Stephen Ng’ethe who had accompanied the Governor said the community would help them rise again.

County Secretary Joseph Motari and County Executive Chair for Trade Ann Njenga were also present.
