Renowned gospel artist Jemimah Thiong'o has appealed to Christians and the society at large to pray for this nation ahead of 2017 elections.

Speaking at PCEA Dr Arthur Nakuru as a guest speaker during a Women Guild Sunday service, Thiong'o said a time has come for a prayerful nation. 

The artist well known for her song 'Akisema atakubariki' among others said the nation is headed in the wrong direction and there is need for everyone to stand firm in prayer. 

"We know very well our nation is headed in the wrong direction and I hereby call upon each and everyone in society to pray for this nation," she said.

Having in mind that it was the climax of Woman's Guild week' at PCEA Dr Arthur, the servant of God also called on women to be role models in society, adding that a successful family, society and nation relies more on women.

"As we mark the end of Women's Guild week, may I appeal to women to be of substance in society and work to transform this nation," she said.

Women Guild is an organisation within the PCEA church where women take a vow to fully serve God and the society through humanitarian activities. 

During the service, special contribution was made to aid the activities of women Guild.
