Machakos town MP Victor Munyaka wants Cord leader Raila Odinga questioned over his recent utterances which he alleges amounts to incitement.

The MP notes that Raila recent remarks allegedly asking Narok residents to prepare their arrows and spears to storm IEBC offices is incitement.

Speaking at St Joseph church in Mitituni Machakos county on Sunday, the MP asked the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) to question Raila over the alleged hate remarks.

“Police should launch investigations into Raila’s remarks,” he said.

The MP said that it is unfortunate that a senior politician like Raila could easily perpetuate incitement.

The MP said that the country will not have peaceful elections if politicians are allowed to perpetrate hate speech.

Raila is alleged to have made inflammatory remarks during a rally in Narok town on Saturday.

The cord leader was quoted allegedly asking Kenyans to arm themselves and flock to IEBC to eject out the commissioners.

“I am calling on all Kenyans from Mandera, Isiolo, Samburu, Kajiado and elsewhere in Kenya to arm themselves with spears and arrows and go to Nairobi and remove Hassan’s team from office,” said Raila as quoted by tuko.co.ke.

The Cord leader was accusing the Jubilee government of laxity in hiring of new IEBC commissioners.

Speaking in Kisumu on Sunday, Raila distanced himself from the hate speech claims saying that his sentiments were misinterpreted.

State House Director of Digital Communication Dennis Itumbi over the weekend called for probe into Raila’s alleged hate remarks.
