Changamwe MP Omar Mwinyi has said the Coast region will remain an opposition stronghold.
This comes as some leaders led by Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung'aro pledge to drum support for Jubilee in the region.
Addressing journalists in Mombasa, the MP accused the national government of failing to solve the problems facing the region, adding that the move is one of the main reasons why voters will remain in Cord.
"Coast people are not in opposition because we like it. We are there to protest for the marginalisation, historical injustices and mistreatment by successive regimes," said Mwinyi.
He added, "Our people are not employed, our collapsed industries have not been revived, our parastatals are not supported and our roads are neglected," he said.
The MP claimed that the Jubilee government is out to 'finish' Mombasa.
"They have refused to build Mombasa Free Port and instead took it to Lamu to kill Mombasa. They want to expand Malindi Airport to kill Mombasa and they deliberately killed Changamwe Oil Refinery," he added.
He further said that the leaders who are rocking ODM from within are just out to pursue their personal ambitions.
