Mbadi however, said the party will 'weed out' what he referred to as 'moles' within the orange party before primary elections are conducted.

There have been calls by a section of members of the opposition that the Cord affiliate party conducts free and fair nominations in preparation for the next election.

He said the party would work with members ready to stick to it's principles and remain disciplined.

“The role of the chairman is to instill discipline and to maintain order within the party, which I will soon do,” said Mbadi.

Speaking at Kabondo Kasipul constituency on Saturday when he opened two new ODM offices, he said lack of loyalty may deny party leader Raila Odinga presidency in 2017.

“ODM may never get to power if those we are looking forward to are not with us but are with other parties,” said Mbadi.

His statements were re-echoed by Kabondo Kasipul MP Silvance Osele who accompanied him.

He asked other ODM member to work together with the elected leaders to bring prosperity within ODM.

He said that ODM will conduct its primary elections in February.
