The Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company has announced a major water interruption in various city estates set for Friday.

According to news posted by the water company on its Facebook page, the massive interruption will last for two days commencing Friday at exactly 6.00 am to Saturday 6.00 pm.

"Nairobi Water and Sanitation Company (NWSC) would wish to inform its esteemed subscribers and customers that there shall be a temporary interruption of water supply as from Friday, May 27, 2016, at exactly 6.00 am in the morning to Saturday, May 28, 2016, at 6.00 pm. The occasional shut-down is meant to facilitate interconnections into the newly relocated water pipelines to pave way for the construction of Outer Ring road,'’ read the post.

The areas to be affected include parts of Mathare, Buruburu, Tassia, Nyayo Estate and parts of Kibera.

Early this month, some of the said areas recorded water crisis as its waterlines got washed away by floods.
