The DP has been under bashing from a section of politicians, especially those from the opposition and the Kieleweke faction of Jubilee Party over claims of frustrating the war.

This is based on the questions that have raised by his allies regarding the manner in which the issue is being handled, including the arrests of persons considered his allies.

And while some have been heard claiming that the purge on graft is indirectly targeting the DP, Shollei says that those should not be taken as his actual stand.

Speaking on K24's Punchline show on Sunday, she said that the DP has not at any point frustrated the war, urging leaders close to him to stop purporting to be representing him.

"I think it is unfair to say the Deputy President doesn't have goodwill towards the fight against corruption. The fact that people from his region or allies have made some comments, those are not his comments. Don't purport to speak for Deputy President," she said.

Shollei said that just like President Uhuru Kenyatta, Ruto is eqaulky committed to slaying the graft menace, blaming their inability tonwipe out the menace so far on state institutions.

"I think Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto are committed to fighting corruption. Earlier, they were not able to make progress is because institutions failed them," she added.

Uhuru has since vowed to deal.with anyone caught up in the graft net, even if it means his relatives of friends.
