A middle-aged motorcycle operator believed to be a notorious drug dealer in Kikumini village, Kangonde location escaped arrest by community policy officers.

According to the residents, on Sunday evening the man commonly known as Kalii had entered a home belonging to his relatives when the Nyumba Kumi initiative officers were hinted. 

Speaking to Josphat Mutinda a member of community policing stated the bodaboda operator escaped leaving his motorcycle behind. 

"Some neighbours saw him sneaking into the home and hinted us in the evening but he managed to escape leaving his motorcycle that had a bag containing 300 grams of bhang," said Mutinda. 

He further stated the man has been on the run for almost two years after he was reported to be selling for the Youth drugs. 

"Six months ago we arrested him assisted by residents but escaped as we approached the Chiefs office. We had found him with 16 rolls of bhang at the time," he added.

The area Chief Sebastian Mang'ee few days ago called upon the residents to report any names of drug dealers known in the area to the police. 

The bhang and the motorcycle were taken to Kikumini police station as the search for the man is launched.
