Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has assured Nakuru residents that the Gavana Mtaani programme will continue despite criticisms from few individuals in the county.
Mbugua who was speaking on Thursday in Rongai sub-county where he led the fifth leg of the programme said the county will not be moved by attempts from a few people who want them to fail in their mission to serve the public.
"It is very unfortunate that there are few individuals who are propagating lies and criticising the Gavana Mtaani programme which has been serving people by providing various services closer. I call upon those who are doubting our efforts to come to the ground and experience what we have been doing to the people of this county," Mbugua stated.
The county boss also rubbished claims that the initiative was his political tool in preparation for the 2017 general election.
‘This initiative is not a political tool as many detractors would like to misrepresent. This is a concept that goes beyond the county government's mandate, and that is to serve its people,’ Mbugua further stated.
He also urged county residents to stop listening to those peddling lies and whose motives is to divide people and gain self-interests.
Mbugua also promised to continue his mandate of delivering the promises they made when they were elected in office.
"We are being praised for the great strides we have achieved and at the same time being enlightened on what more we can do to develop our beloved county. I assure you that the county government is focused on serving its people and no amount of politicking will backtrack our achievements so far," Mbugua further added.
