Just months to the 2017 elections, aspirants in various elective posts are in a concerted warm up pending the official kick off of campaigns.
Garissa gubernatorial aspirants are already in their face off campaigns with an imminent supremacy battles sprouting up.
Ali Korane, the former Information PS has been endorsed by majority leader Aden Duale to engage the defiant Jama.
Apparently, his Abuduwak clan has also given him a go ahead to engage the defending champion who has recently faced harsh criticism from various quarters over performance issues.
In a recent interview with the Star, Korane is on record saying Garissa residents need to be freed from Jama's captivity.
“We want to free our Garissa residents from governor Nathif Jama, who has remained to be a pest by stealing from public coffers. He has not even a single policy other than just stealing,” Korane said.
Duale via his social media updates has been seen to publicly endorse Korane to battle Jama who also happens to be from the opposition side.
However, Jama has sensed and realised of an impending hot race. He has been seen traversing the county to foresee and revive stalled projects in a bid to fulfil his promises to the electorate.
Political analysts argue that Jama will have a bid task in sustaining the race owing to the fact that Ali Korane came second after him in the last general elections.
To add salt to an injury, Jama has also been battling with court cases over alleged controversial tender awards.
