Nairobi Governor Evan Kidero has been accused of hiding in his past failures to get favors from the Orange Democratic Movement Party moments after he vowed to use his resources to ensure opposition leader Raila Odinga wins the presidency in 2017.
Kidero was quoted by a local Newspaper The Star promising to use his resources till 2017 elections to ensure ODM wins the presidency.
However, the remarks have not gone down well with Kisii County Assembly Majority Leader Protus Moindi who accused the City Governor of betrayals after 2017 elections by allegedly showing signs of working with Jubilee.
“Supporting Raila for the campaign isn’t a big deal because we all want him to win but Kidero should first explain why he was a bit reluctant to work with the party after 2013 polls. He was very friendly to our opponents and defiant to our party,” he said.
”Raila has won elections before not because of money but because people are behind him. He is a man of the party and we don’t want people to hide their past mistakes in the name of campaigning for the party leader. He must tell us why the late change of heart,” he said.
Recently, Governor Kidero reportedly wrote to the Orange House seeking surety that the party ticket will be given in a free and fair manner during party primaries in 2017.
