Speaking in Nairobi on Monday, the youth, led by chairman John Ketora said the Budalangi legislator’s loyalty to the party was compromised a long time ago, and it was time he was expelled from the party.

“He has just been a liability and the earlier he leaves, the better, If not, we shall push him out ourselves,” Mr Ketora.

This comes a day after Namwamba said he has not left the party yet, adding that he will do so when he has fully marked his path.

The party has been entangled in internal issues from members mainly from the western region, who have claimed of being ‘marginalized’ by the top leadership.

Still in Western Kenya, Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale and Shinyalu MP Silverse Anami have accused the Jubilee coalition of being behind the rebellion in ODM.

They said there was a plan to weaken the opposition in regions with highest support, so that they scuttle their plans ahead of next year’s polls.

Party leader Raila Odinga has planned a series of political rallies next week to try and consolidate his support in the region, and assure his supporters that all is well.
