Opposition leader Raila Odinga has been advised to drop his Cord co-principals and instead focus on strengthening his ODM party ahead of the 2017 elections.
This comes after a renewed push from Ford Kenya boss Moses Wetangula to have Raila back his presidential bid arguing that he is best suited to defeat President Uhuru Kenyatta in next year's polls.
And now Bogichora ward MCA Beuttah Omanga insists that the two are ‘liabilities’ in Raila’s 2017 bid and that he should consider doing away with them for his own good.
“I have said these for umpteen times that Wetangula and Kalonzo (Musyoka)are insignificant in Raila’s quest for the presidency. All they are doing is subjecting us to unnecessary wrangles which may hinder our quest to topple Jubilee,” he said.
“I always see Raila working hard every week to popularise himself while the other two leaders are seated in the comfort of their houses waiting for endorsements. That is unacceptable and time has come to do away with them,” said Omanga during Thursday’s interview.
The former Nyamira Assembly Majority leader urged Raila to look for dependable politicians for coalitions or stick with the ODM party because it is capable of delivering him the presidency.
