Former Muhoroni MP Ayiecho Olweny has declare that the opposition will give a spirited fight in their quest to remove IEBC commissioners from office and that no amount of intimidation will make Cord abandon their mission to have a reformed poll body to conduct the 2017 election.
The veteran politician said their fight is yielding fruits and that they will not abandon it considering the amount of fight they have mounted to kick out the commissioners.
He further poured salvo at the police for their brutality saying they will continue with the demonstrations irrespective of the amount of intimidation they are subjected to.
"This is a fight that we are winning. The commissioners must be feeling the heat now and it would be very wise for them to leave office at least with some dignity. Otherwise, they will be kicked out of office in a shameful manner," said Prof Olweny who is also the ODM Chairman for Kisumu county.
According to the former assistant minister, it would be wise for the government to view Cord protests as legitimate as they are raising a genuine concern that the current commission as it is constituted cannot hold free and fair election in 2017.
