City lawyer Donald Kipkorir poured scorn on Uasin Gishu County for being the only county that backed the Punguza Mizigo Initiative.
Kipkorir on Wednesday called for the county to be bestowed with what he called the 'Sponsor of the Year Award'.
"Uasin Gishu County should be given “Sponsor of the Year Award” for being the only one to accept #PunguzaMizigoBill2019 .. Its vote is evidential that a Sponsor must stand by its Project even if alone! .. But how do you feel when the rest of the Country rejected it? CLEVER?" he wrote.
The bill's exponent, Thirdway Alliance leader Dr Ekuru Aukot has claimed that the counties that rejected the bill came under undue pressure from party leaders.
Critics of the bill claim that it will roll back the gains achieved under devolution and have vowed to fight it.
They have also accused the authors of the bill of not involving the Kenyan public in drawing it up.
Veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga has called on Kenyans to ignore the bill and wait for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
