Through his director of communications Elkana Jacob, Sonko insisted that everything is going on well at the institution. The county boss assured the residents of Nairobi that his government is up to the task.

He said that the projects he had rolled out before he was arrested will continue as planned. The former Senator promised to continue with his good as he waits for his fate over the alleged misappropriation of Sh.358 million.

“Why are you guys writing about a crisis at City Hall? There is one thing you journalists do not understand; that this is pure politics. The magistrate only said he was pronouncing himself on the corruption issue and not on the governor stepping aside,” he said.

The remarks come after Nairobi Senator Johnstone Sakaja wrote to Speaker of the Senate Johnson Lusaka over the fear of a crisis in the leadership of the county.

Sakaja wants the speaker to call an urgent meeting to discuss the management of the county following the decision of the court.  The governor has insisted that he is innocent and attributed his woes to political stand.
