Muthoni made the call in her Thika office on Thursday after returning from the launch of Access to Government Procurement Opportunities (AGPOS) sensitisation campaign which was presided over by Governor William Kabogo in Kiambu Town.

Muthoni noted that in 2015, only 17.5% of tenders were awarded to youth and women groups instead of the required 30%.

"The Governor has insisted that the mandatory 30% of tenders set aside for youths, women and people with disabilities has to go them this financial year. We are, therefore, calling on all these groups to come to our offices and apply for these tenders," said Muthoni.

The administrator stated that Thika sub-county was one of the sub-counties where tendering apathy among women and youths had been highly recorded in the past year.

Muthoni noted that in this financial year Sh1B worth of tenders have been set aside for youths, women and people with disabilities and challenged them to take advantage and apply for them.
