Mr Ruto, who is also the Chama Cha Mashinani party (CCM) leader said voters are now informed and will only vote for visionary leaders, regardless of their parties.

“Everyone is free to seek votes on any party. This time round it will not be as easy as Jubilee might think, people know the kind of leaders they want,” Ruto said.

Mr Ruto in July launched CCM at Siongiroi in an event attended by thousands of supporters.

The former council of governors chairman will be defending his seat on a CCM ticket in the 2017 elections.

CCM is expected to rival JP in the Rift Valley.
