Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire insists that the Gusii region remains an undisputed ODM region, contradicting a message that was conveyed by a host of legislators a week ago.
Last week, a host of leaders mainly from Kisii County convened in Otamba region and vowed to form a political party that the community will use to advance its interests.
And Mr Bosire during a function at Sungututa, accused the leaders of working in isolation, maintaining that the region was still an opposition zone.
“Sometimes it is ridiculous that a few people convene and pretend to be speaking on behalf of the entire community. The so called 'Otamba declaration' was a creation of people who are out to hoodwink residents by hiding their past failures,” he said.
“ODM is a national party that has the interests of all communities across the country. We don’t need another party as a community other than the Orange party,” added Bosire.
The lawmaker also accused the government of ‘buying’ the politicians from a region that has been traditionally bedrock of the opposition but vowed to deliver votes for Cord leader Raila Odinga.
“We know that the government has dished out handouts to this region basically to make the Opposition look bad. We will work around the clock to ensure that ODM constitutes the next government,” he said.
