Members of Nakuru business community benefitted from a three-day training on business modelling and youth employment creation for which the county played the host.

Speaking during the official closing of the training at the Rift Valley Sports Club, Nakuru County Director of Trade Mandeep Singh congratulated efforts by the sponsors and the county government of Nakuru towards creating employment for women and youth.

“We are glad to hold this event as one of a kind whose objective is to equip the trainers in business modeling for green economic growth. We thank the sponsors and the county government of Nakuru for its dedicated efforts in making this project a huge success,” Singh said on Friday.

“The training entails a holistic, multi-disciplinary approach of capacity building through business modeling, training on pitching for funding and running county business plan competitions,” he added.

The training which will be conducted by Tangaza University College in conjunction with Micro-Enterprise Support Programme Trust is geared towards equipping the business fraternity with skills to overhaul employment crisis in the region.

Nakuru County is among the 12 counties selected to benefit from the initiative, with Nakuru as the pilot project.

The training was sponsored by Danish Development assistance. 

More than 20 participants from Nakuru County took part in a three day seminar which ended on Thursday. The participants were also awarded with certificates.
