Residents of Gichocho village in Kiambu constituency will soon get water after area Member of Parliament Jude Njomo announced that two boreholes will be drilled in the area starting next month.

According to Mr Njomo, the drilling of two boreholes will help address water problems in the area.

Addressing residents in Kiambu town on Thursday, Njomo said that Constituency Development Funds (CDF) will be used to fund the project.

He said that residents in the village had complained over lack of access to water.

“We are happy to announce that the drilling of two boreholes that will see Gichocho residents get water will start immediately,” he said.

The MP said that engineers from the Athi Water Services will be leading the construction adding that similar projects will be extended to all Wards in the constituency.

Njomo said water is a basic commodity that residents must have access to.

The MP appealed to the Kiambu government to connect residents to tap water noting many residents in the constituency cannot access tap water.

The Kiambu constituency MP also announced that plans are underway to construct two dams in the constituency.
