In a post on his official Twitter handle, Mudavadi noted that there were serious challenges that deserved attention and were worth reporting on instead of non-issues.

Among the issues of concern, Mudavadi argued, that they need publicity included unsustainable foreign debt, unchecked corruption, high unemployment rate and health problems in a number of counties.

The former Vice President also urged the media to give Tangatanga and Kieleweke political factions' a wide berth and focus on reporting issues that would evoke the need to provide tangible solutions to problems.

"I urge the media to keenly focus on important issues affecting the mwananchi like the rampant cases of corruption, the runaway debt, huge unemployment and the health crises in various counties other than the sideshows of kieleweke and tangatanga," Mudavadi tweeted.

Tangatanga and Kieleweke are political groupings within Jubilee. One faction, the Tangatanga, is made up of politicians allied to DP Ruto, while the other one is composed of leaders supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta.

They have been moving across the country while throwing jabs at one another. It has threatened to tear the ruling party apart.

Former Uasin Gishu gubernatorial hopeful Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop (Buzeki) once termed the politicians in the two groups as 'self-serving' with selfish motives.

"These are formations for self-serving people. They were not part of the Jubilee manifesto. This is a fake promise which do not exist," said Buzeki as quoted by the Daily Nation.
