Residents of Kiharu in Murang'a county were left in shock on Friday, after stumbling upon a mutilated body near their homes.
The body, which allegedly had some parts missing was found dumped by the roadside in Kamuiru Village.
Residents said that such an incident has never been witnessed in the region, even as they decried insecurity.
The body was identified as that of 50-year-old Chege Njuguna, with locals now calling for the introduction of a police post in the area to combat rising insecurity cases.
“It was such a shocking scene and we have never seen such an incident in this area," said one of them, only two months after another body was discovered in a house in the same area.
Residents told the People Daily that the body, in the new case. was found stuffed in a sack, with among the missing parts being the ears, eyes and nose.
It also had some flesh on the upper side of the body removed and the hair shaved, an incident that was confirmed by Muranga East OCPD Alex Muasya.
The police boss said that investigations have begun, adding that the police are ready to work with locals in solving the puzzle regarding his murder.
“We shall carry out investigations into the matter to track down the culprits and have them face the law,” he said.
In the initial case, the body was of a woman who was allegedly murdered by her lover who beheaded her and locked the body in the house.
