As political temperatures continue to soar in the country, Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri has asked the National Parliament to name 52 MPs alleged to have been involved in the National Youth Service corruption saga.
Ngunjiri on Wednesday said citizens of Kenya have a right to know those who participated in the multi-million corruption scandal so that they are not re-elected again.
“People want to know those who were involved so that we make the right choices when it comes to 2017. It’s good to know them so that you do not make a mistake of voting them back,” said he.
“That is why you are seeing the strong opposition in Parliament as some MPs are opposing this move because it has touched some Jubilee and Cord MPs. They know that once the names come out, theirs is done and their political future is dim,” he added.
He said corrupt leaders do not deserve to be in public office.
“A corrupt leader should not hold public office because he will not represent your interests. He will put his interest first at the expense of helping you and once you know them, do not elect them.”
