A Mombasa Court on Wednesday stopped further mentioning of a case against British terror suspect Samantha Lewthwaite also known as the white widow.
Mombasa Chief Magistrate Julius Nang’ea in his ruling said the case in which the suspect is facing terrorism-related charges has been mentioned many times before him and there has been no progress on it.
Magistrate Nang’ea said the warrant of arrest issued against Lewthwaite will remain in force.
The magistrate directed that the case will only be mentioned whenever there are any new developments.
In the previous case hearing, the magistrate had told the prosecutors to close their case against Lewthwaite after they failed to produce her in court.
Lewthwaite and her Kenyan accomplice, Habib Saleh Gani alias Abu Osama were charged before a Mombasa Court four years ago with possessing explosives and conspiracy to commit a felony.
The two were being charged with committing the offence on December 20, 2011 in Kisauni, Mombasa.
