Youth from Mavoko Sub County have been urged to visit Voluntary Counseling and Testing centres to know their HIV/Aids status.
This call was made by Angaza Counseling Centre's coordinator Jane Ngaira who said youth were vulnerable to HIV/Aids infections due to ignorance.
Ms Ngaira who addressed a youth meeting in Mlolongo town on Tuesday said most of the youth in the sub county did not know their HIV/Aids status.
"It is unfortunate that so many youth from Mavoko Sub County still do not know their HIV/Aids status in this 21st century, youth need to style up and change their attitudes," said Ngaira.
Ngaira said many of the youth were falling to peer pressure thereby corrupting their morals.
She said the youth can be great assets in making sensitization and campaigns against HIV/Aids syndrome successful in the region if they voluntarily come up in support of the course.
Ngaira said the youth can only become supportive in the sensitization if they themselves seek VCT services to know their HIV/Aids status.
She said her NGO is committed to ensuring the prevalence rate in the region goes down through prevention of new infections.
