The governor of Machakos County Dr Alfred Mutua has been condemned for allegedly deceiving the president over construction of the Machakos city and water projects.
Speaking to the media on Monday afternoon, wiper nominated Member of County Assembly Carol Koki Musembi stated that the development projects opened had already failed less than a week after Uhuru's visit.
"We want to tell governor Alfred Mutua that as Machakos residents we are used to his cinemas even after he deceived the president of the water project on Friday but the pipes ran dry the next day," said Musembi.
The MCA further accused the governor of misusing 1.5 billion allocated by the president for water projects in Machakos County.
"We all witnessed Mutua say that there is a Machakos city project almost in its completion stages but it has never been seen despite the governor last week was seeking for more funds from our president," she added.
This comes barely three days after the president Uhuru Kenyatta together with his deputy William Ruto visited Machakos County among other Ukambani Counties.
Among the projects officially opened by the president is Masinga Water project which the MCA stated had no water since then.
The governor, Dr Alfred Mutua has been widely accused of cinema development projects which are popularly overrated but do not exist.
