Kiambu Governor William Kabogo is likely to lose is governor seat in 2017 general election. Kabogo is facing stiff competition and could be losing reputations based on his remarks. There are several reasons which show Kabogo is likely to be defeated in the next election.

Stiff Competition from  Ferdinand Waititu

Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu has declared his interest in the Kiambu County top seat. Waititu is an influencial leader who is likely to garner many voters in Kiambu.

 He onced said: “Kiambu residents have been calling and asking me to vie for the seat assuring me of their votes for being on the front-line in fighting brews that had consumed their sons and men.” 

Kabogo has however filed a case in court to challenge Waititu's academic papers, this means he is scared of his candidature.

Remarks on DP that he may not be supported by Mt Kenya in 2022

William Kabogo remarks that Deputy President might not be supported by Mt Kenya in the 2022 poll after supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017 were highly condemned by Kabogo’s close associates.

These remarks have made him unpopular among the Jubilee house.

Kabogo has once made remarks that unmarried people should not contest for any seat. Critics said such statement targeted young voters. Therefore, because of such sentiments, youths might not support Kabogo.
