Speaking on Sunday, the firebrand governing Jubilee party MP said that he would not allow himself to be forced to support the presidential candidature of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga.

Mr Kuria claimed that the leaders who spoke at the Mombasa meeting were supposed to refer to the former Prime Minister as Baba, claiming that his sit was taken away from him because he did not toe that line.

"It was a constitutional requirement yesterday to call Raila Baba. Personally, I had my seat taken away from me because I did not stand. You know some 2022 line-up is being created. I am not part of that line-up. If supporting Raila is the ticket to heaven, let me go to hell. I say yes to BBI and not to Raila, " the Gatundu South lawmaker said.

Moses Kuria was part of the politicians regarded as allies of the Deputy President Dr William Ruto who graced the occasion.

He did not address the gathering at the Mama Ngina Waterfront.

His strong words are consistent with the views of a section of DP Ruto allies who say the BBI has a hidden agenda of propelling Raila Odinga to power.
