Deputy President Dr William Ruto has urged Coast region voters to back his 2022 presidential bid.
Ruto camped at the Coast on Friday and Saturday.
Speaking at a fundraiser for bodaboda operators and women groups at Mtwapa on Friday, Ruto said that his easy availability to help locals whenever needed warrants political support.
“I am always ready to support you when you call upon me to do so. But you should also return the favour and support us,” the DP said as quoted by Standard.
Ruto's Coastal tour of Kwale, Kilifi and Mombasa counties was full of goodies.
He commissioned the Sh2.3 billion Kakuyuni-Gongoni and Kakuyuni-Kilifi pipeline works in Kilifi North, Kilifi County, attended youth and women empowerment programme, opened the Sh108 million Lunga Lunga Technical and Vocational College in Godo, Lunga Lunga, Kwale County, visited Last Mile programme beneficiaries, commissioned the Sh985 million Kwale County Last Mile Connectivity Phase 2 Project, Mwamtsefu, Lunga Lunga, Kwale County, launched the construction of Sh286m Pemba Dam Intake and Treatment Works and launched of the Sh200m Changamwe Re-pooling Sewer Network Project among other activities.
"We are expanding access to electricity targeting households, schools, hospitals and trading centres to better lives, enhance the quality of life and progress the economy. The move will facilitate business and boost security," Ruto tweeted while announcing some of the projects that coast residents will enjoy.
