Onunga, who was speaking while addressing administrators drawn from the county on Wednesday said that there have been complaints about police engaging in corrupt activities instead of executing their duties professionally.

“We have received complaints that police have been moving from bar to bar at night soliciting for bribes and this has seemingly led to many issues left unaddressed, this has to stop immediately because all eyes are on you,” she warned.

She added that the issue of police collecting bribes from Wananchi has led to mass transfers of police officers serving that region, and warned that any officer found guilty over the malpractice will be disciplined as per the law.

She assured the residents that the police will never again collect bribes, and urged them to supply any relevant government authority with vital information for prompt action to be taken in order to contain the vice.
