According to political analysts, Musyoka’s move is aimed at maintaining his popularity and political base in Ukambani and the country.

According to Peter Ngure, a political expert in Kiambu, Musyoka wants to attract supports and also sale his agenda to voters ahead of the 2017 elections.

“Musyoka’s popularity according to the recent political surveys and opinion polls we have seen is down and there is need for him to remain relevant,” said Ngure.

The analyst said that the emergence of Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua in Ukambani has made Kalonzo to re-strategize.

“As things are we cannot say that Kalonzo has 100 per cent grip of Ukambani votes,” he said.

The analyst argued that Kalonzo’s popularity will be complicated further if former Lands CS Charity Ngilu does not work with him in 2017.

However, the analyst notes that Kalonzo’s strategy could be late bearing in mind that we have only 14 months to the general election.

Furthermore according to the analyst, Kalonzo might not get the support he needs through a website.

The analyst recommends for the former Vice President to go to grass roots to seek support.

On Thursday Kalonzo launched his website which he said is a platform to connect with supporter.

The launch was attended by cord co-principals Raila Odinga and Moses Wetangula.

Kalonzo is not the first politician to launch a website, early last year Raila Odinga launched his personal website www.rao.co.ke a platform he is using to connect with supporters on key issues ahead of the 2017 polls.
