The two alongside Deputy Governor Joash Maangi, MPs Richard Tong’i (Nyaribari Chache) and Jimmy Angwenyi (Kitutu Chache North) met at a Hotel on Friday to discuss the deal even though Nyachae termed the meeting ‘Social-economic’ dispelling political factor.

But a source who spoke on condition of anonymity due to sensitivity of the matter reveled that Obure will run for Governor on Ford People ticket and will be deputised by Nyachae before retiring from active politics in 2022.

“I want to reaffirm that Obure will now run for gubernatorial seat on Ford People and will be deputised by Nyachae and the MoU indicates that he will only serve for one term before exiting active politics,” said the source.

“The announcement will be made formal before the end of the year when Obure will officially decamp from ODM to Ford People. It’s a done deal and with time people will know,” added the source.

The source also intimated that Mr Maangi will be hoping for a nomination since they are hoping for a clear Jubilee win in 2017.

“Maangi has no problem with the arrangement since he is well connected to the Jubilee government. The team will campaign for Jubilee on condition that Maangi gets a ministerial slot in Jubilee government come 2017,” the source said.

However, efforts to reach Mr Obure and Nyachae for comment were futile since none could respond to phone calls and text messages.
