The former presidential candidate has announced three counties that he can vie in. Nakuru, Murang'a and Nairobi are his counties of interest that he believes needs quality leadership that he is ready and able to offer.

This is bad news to Nakuru's Kinuthia Mbugua, Murang'as gubernatorial aspirants and Nairobi's Jubilee hopefuls. The most affected leader is the flamboyant senator Mike Sonko.

He should relocate his political tent to Machakos because Nairobi has found "the people's choice".

Machakos is the only safe retreat for Mike Sonko if he wants to continue with his gubernatorial ambition. The outspoken senator is the darling of many Nairobi youths but Peter Kenneth (PK) is what Nairobi needs and Nairobians know that.

PK is a visionary leader that even supporters of DP William Ruto will never support as governor for fear of 2022 repercussions.

Sonko will be backed by Ruto's camp but unseating Machakos incumbent Alfred Mutua is the best alternative Sonko should go for.

Despite development progress, Mutua's decision to ditch Wiper Party has reduced his popularity.

He has also been accused of some funds misappropriation which will be a plus for Senator Sonko. Leaving Jubilee to vie in Machakos on a Cord ticket is the surest way Sonko will be a governor after 2017.
