Residents of Kisumu East constituency were infuriated on Monday following Deputy President Willam Ruto's failure to grace a funds drive in the area.
Nominated Senator Joy Gwendo who had organised the event had a hard time to explain to residents why the DP failed to show up at the event they claimed "was well organised."
The DP however, sent Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Will Bet to represent him.
The fundraiser had been organised in aid of farmers in Kisumu East constituency represented by Shakeel Shabbir (ODM).
"I want you to turn your cameras to show the multitude of people who had come to receive the DP," Gwendo said as she struggled to explain the turn of events.
"They are disappointed. Let him not fear to come and see the people of Kisumu East."
The Senator insisted that all she wanted was development for the people of Kisumu and that they wanted to 'whisper' something to the DP himself.
"All I want for the people of Kisumu is change and development," the senator told Bet.
"I will tell you without fear or favour that we are disappointed."
