Party secretary general and Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has said that the ultimatum is meant to enable the outfit plan the next move.

''We are giving our counterparts until the 25th of December to decide on the coalition's presidential flag bearer because want to know the person in advance so as to decide on our next step," said Omar during a Sunday interview with Citizen TV.

Omar also stated that the party is not planning to ditch the opposition.

He said that rallies being organized across the country are one way of making the outfit popular among the electorate.

All the three Cord principals have already expressed interest in becoming the flag bearers to battle it out with Jubilee's Uhuru Kenyatta.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his Ford Kenya counterpart have been vocal urging leader Raila Odinga to step down for either of them.
