Nyamira Youth Alliance will sponsor twenty youths from various parts of the county for driving lessons, group spokesperson Nyambega Gisesa has revealed.
The youths will be recruited through a first come first served basis, and the programme is intending to equip youths with basic survival skills.
Speaking to this reporter on Friday, Gisesa encouraged willing youths to seize the opportunity for the sake of getting the skills that will enable them to earn a living.
“Our group will sponsor 20 youths for driving schools lessons and the recruitment will be done from all parts of the county. We will only give the opportunity to those who make the applications first,” Gisesa said.
“This programme intends to give our youths special basic skills that will enable them earn a living in these hard economic times. We hope that the programme will succeed,” he added.
Gisesa challenged youths from the region to be tolerant to each other regardless of their political persuasions for the sake of pushing the youth agenda as a group.
“As youths, political extremism is our undoing. Time has come for us to embrace each other regardless of our political persuasions. We must be tolerant for the sake of pushing the common youth agenda of equal developmental opportunities in both national and county governments,” Nyambega said.
He said the programme will be expanded soon the youth group is able to secure support from well-wishers.
