Residents of Flamingo, Rhoda and Langa Langa estates in Nakuru have decried insecurity and now want the police to take action on a gang member attacking people with crude weapons.

This is after two young men were attacked in Flamingo area on Tuesday night by unknown people whom they said had machetes and clubs.

Geoffrey Mungai said he was hijacked on his way home at around 8pm by the gang, and they beat him up leaving him for dead.

“I was on my way home and had boarded a boda boda and when we reached Flamingo, we met this huge group of people with machetes and clubs and they ordered us to stop. They grabbed me and beat me up but never stole anything from me,” he said.

The two were rushed to St Elizabeth Hospital where they are recuperating.

Police in the area have so far arrested two suspects linked to the incident and are helping in the investigations.
