Josephine Kabura, a key suspect in the NYS fraud was on Tuesday at pains to explain her dealings with the National Youth Service (NYS), including the withdrawal of more than Sh100 million in a day without security arrangements.
Her explanation of how she ferried the Sh56 million, part of the Sh100 million thrust the MPs into a confusion.
"I was using a bag, one bag at a go," she said.
When pressed to elaborate how she was able to carry the large amount of money in a bag, Kabura said she used a bag that could fit the amount of money she was carrying.
She stated that she would stuff the withdrawn money in carry bags and transport them to the site for payment.
“As I said, that money was used to pay suppliers and I would carry them in bags,” she said.
