Cord co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka has ruled out the dissolution of Cord affiliate parties to for one political outfit.
Kalonzo who spoke on Radio Jambo on Thursday morning said Cord is not desperate to dissolve its constituent parties the way the Jubilee coalition disintegrated to form the Jubilee Party.
"Our Cord coalition is strong," he said.
"Kenyans should not worry. The coalition itself brings together Wiper Democratic Movement, ODM and Ford Kenya. So we have agreed that contrary to what our colleagues in Jubilee did, we will remain transparent and Wiper will remain Wiper, ODM will remain ODM as well as Ford Kenya."
He said Cord will promote democratic ideals by allowing individual parties to remain vibrant within the coalition.
He acknowledged there were differences in the coalition but allayed fears that Cord will break.
"As partners, we can disagree," he said.
"Differences do not mean that we are breaking. We will not break because we understand one another."
He said his presence in the opposition has even strengthened him adding that he was fit to be President.
"Opposition is important. Without Cord, this country would have disintegrated long time ago. Look at the rampant theft of public resources that Cord has exposed."
He welcomed Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi and Kanu Chairman Gideon Moi to the coalition saying the group would constitute a formidable force to challenge the Jubilee administration in 2017.
