Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has given a directive to all politicians to stay away from school materials.
In a statement sent to newsrooms, Matiang'i barred politicians from including their portraits on school materials.
He cited materials like school buses, geometrical sets, test papers and others which were easily targeted by politicians.
"No school property should have a portrait of a politician even if it is a donation to the school. The Ministry of Education's mandate is to provide free and compulsory education within the provisions of the constitution and policies will be used to guide the sector," read the statement in part.
This comes in the wake of politicians printing their portraits on the mock examination papers in a number of regions in the country.
In Siaya County, a mock exam was cancelled and the County's Education team removed from office after Exam papers were printed with the portrait of Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga.
