Nairobi has been ranked the ninth city in the world with the worst traffic and high carbon dioxide emission index.

Numbeo, a website that collates global information related to costs of living, crime rates and pollution said that in Nairobi you have to sit for an average of 65.20 minutes in order to reach your destination.

The ranking of the cities was arrived at by using a ‘Time Index’ that factors in the average time spent by a commuter on a one-way trip.

Apart from that, the other factors include ‘Inefficiency Index’, which comprises of long commute hours, poor traffic laws, and driving.
