The region has experienced a beehive of political activity with a number of leaders elected on the ODM ticket decamping to Jubilee Party in recent months among them.

And on Monday, Nominated Senator Janet Ong’era during an exclusive interview with this reporter reiterated that the Orange party will easily win in the region during the 2017 polls.

“I want to assure the former Prime Minister that Kisii County is a safe ODM zone. He should let our able team deal with the Jubilee people trying to hoodwink our people. We have been in this business for a long time,” she said.

“As the ODM team from Kisii together with my able Governor James Ongwae, we are going to deliver. Our people are not too gullible to fall into the trap of a failed regime. Raila will not only win but also improve his margin compared to the 2013 results,” she added.

Raila is expected to meet with ODM youths from the area this September during his planned trip to Nyacheki where he will campaign for his party ward aspirant following the demise of area MCA, Peter Ongeri.
