This was necessitated by Governor Kinuthia Mbugua through his Kinuthia Mbugua Foundation in the ongoing county government outreach programme in the sub-county.

Speaking while handing over the reflector jackets on Thursday, the county boss noted that the sector needs adoption of new laws so as to make it better owing to the impact it has on the county's economy.

"This sector is among the largest youth employer not only in Nakuru but the whole country and its impact cannot be underestimated. Nevertheless, we need to make new pieces of legislation that will make it better," he said.

The governor further called on the operators to adhere to laid down traffic rules to avert accidents so as to make all roads in the county conducive for all road users.

"Adhering to traffic rules is the best thing any road user can do because anything less than that inconveniences other road users and that is the reason why Nakuru is leading on the most accident prone list of counties," Mbugua noted.

The operators lauded the move but called on the governor to help intervene on cases of being harassed by police officers but promised to stick to traffic rules.
